Orange and liquorice truffles
Homemade truffles are delicious and wonderful! In these chocolate truffles, orange and liquorice create the perfect pair of flavours. Full-bodied chocolate, orange peel and liquorice powder produce a unique delicacy.

20 pieces | Preparation time 20 minutes + setting time 2 hours
Ingredients
100 g dark chocolate
100 g milk chocolate
1 orange (organic)
1 dl whipping cream
20 g butter
For icing
2 tbsp liquorice powder
1 tsp cocoa powder
Grind the chocolate and place it in a bowl. Wash the orange and grate the peel (2 tsp).
Heat the cream to boiling point. Pour the hot cream over the chocolate and let set for a few minutes to melt the chocolate. Dice the butter and add it to the chocolate and cream mixture. Stir the mixture with a spatula until it is smooth and shiny. Add the grated peel and stir into the mixture.
Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let the paste set in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours or overnight until it is firm enough to roll around.
Shape small balls from the truffle paste with a spoon and your hands. Mix the liquorice and cocoa powder. Finally, toss the truffles in powder mixture. If the paste is too sticky to roll, wear disposable gloves or put your hands in cold water and dry them.
Tip: Ready-made truffles can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for about 2 weeks and in the freezer for 3 months.
